Photography Procedures & Requirements

PHOTOGRAPHY REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES

After your wedding day is over, it is not likely you will re-use your wedding outfit, or your suit may return to the hire shop. Flowers won’t last and the music and dancing will be a good memory. The photographs are a true memory and souvenir from your special day. We want you to have the best photographs possible. And in doing so, there are certain requirements that are vital to the professional outcome and quality of your images.

  • An itinerary is vital. As the photographer is only human, he/she will need toilet breaks, a food break and also an allocated time to set up the Portrait Studio. If an itinerary is not provided, it is highly likely that the photographer will miss important shots. We want to ensure that this is not the case.

  • An allocated parking space is needed at your home/at the venue. This needs to be as near to the entrance/exit as possible. We want you to have the best selection of photographs after your event, and the photographer can only do so if he is well assisted and ready.

  • Please ensure a power supply is organised and available. Our team will ensure that they are equipped with extension cables.

  • A 14ft x 14ft separate room/space is needed where the studio will be set up for Bride and Groom portraits (ideally private, away from the wedding itself). As you can understand, photography equipment is not only expensive but fragile, we need to ensure the safety of our equipment, so a locked room is ideal, with only the photographer and one delegated family member having access. Inability to provide this may hinder the photographer. No other photographers are permitted during this session. We understand the nature of Asian weddings and the issue with time-keeping, but please ensure the photographer is aware a minimum of 30 minutes prior to when you are available for this portrait sitting.

  • Please ensure one immediate family member is allocated to the photographer. He can then guide the photographer and help during the family photo shots. A list of names for these group shots would be ideal. This family member will be responsible for the outcome of these shots.

  • We understand that your guests want to join in and share your special occasion with you with and so will be bringing cameras too. However, post event, if your attention is not “ours” and your eyes are diverted elsewhere for important photos, this is again, not the responsibility of TLG.

  • Please ensure that a place setting is organised for a minimum of 3 people, for lunch/dinner. Please also incorporate this into your itinerary.

  • As many table shots will be taken as possible. However not all guests like this and so this is to the discretion of the photographer.

  • Our photography team will continue to take photographs until 11.30pm.

Video Procedures & Requirements

VIDEO REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES

This is the bit where all the magic happens. We sift through the footage and select the best shots captured and then begin editing them into a coherent, entertaining and moving film. The edit will also include special effects such as slow-motion, fast-motion, time lapse, (where possible) black & white, flashes, fades and beginning titles. We try to personalise each of our wedding films according to each couple and the style of music that they have chosen. Finally after you're happy with the whole wedding film we then produce it onto high quality DVD and make copies as required. The end result is more than just a wedding video - it's a film you will want to watch again and again, as well as family and friends!

Before the event and the event itself

  • Any specific filming requirements should be outlined in an itinerary and discussed with the cameraman prior to the event. If this is not the case, TLG cannot be held responsible in any way if it is not for any reason subsequently recorded.

  • We retain the right not to record every request; it is at our discretion or within reason where it is possible to do so.

  • Please ensure a power supply is organised and available. Our team will ensure that they are equipped with extension cables.

  • No objection is raised to family/friends filming at the event, providing priority is given to the professional. TLG cannot be held responsible for circumstances resulting in a failure to ensure this.

  • An allocated parking space is needed at your home/at the venue. This needs to be as near to the entrance/exit as possible. We want to be able to capture every special moment, and can only do so if we are well assisted and ready.

  • Please ensure that a place setting is organised for a minimum of 2 people, for lunch/dinner. Please also incorporate this into your itinerary.

PROCEDURE FOR VIDEO EDITING

  • Editing your finished film is a complex and time consuming process. We believe the whole film should be as polished and professional as possible. Capturing footage, studio editing, sound mixing and DVD production takes a minimum of 6 weeks. We will notify you as soon as it is ready. Although at peak times, (March – September) this could be longer.

  • Your wedding film takes many hours to edit; it would not be practical for you to be involved in this procedure. However, your input is welcomed if you have any special requests.

  • Your choice of music makes the film personal, if you prefer, your music can also be chosen for you. If you wish to choose your own music we ask you submit your choices no later than two weeks after your wedding. Any tracks not on our comprehensive suggested music list must be sent to us on CD to ensure the best quality. All supplied music should be clearly labelled with your name and date of wedding with each track labelled.

  • If credits are to be added they should be provided in advance in electronic form on disc or by email. If there are subsequent spelling mistakes these will be deemed your mistake and a small charge will be levied to correct them. This must be done within 48 hrs of receiving the finished product.

  • Each wedding is different, it is impossible to say how long your film will be. Between 60 and 90 minutes is the average length, sometimes more. You can be sure we will capture and edit the entire day in a way that will keep you interested throughout. With a production of this length, it is also easier to show to friends and family.

  • All DVDs will have a menu system with chapters and scene selection just like movies. All DVD covers and discs will be individually designed and printed in house.

  • Delivery of the final product will be at the address on your booking. If you require postage to an alternative address (in the UK) please inform us in writing. Any changes must be requested within 48 hours.
